The Perfect Choice are a very experienced, high class professional band who are continually updating their repertoire. They have several hundred weddings, functions, parties and New Year's Eve celebrations under their belt, so you can feel very safe in the hands of:
Perryn Butler on lead vocals, acoustic guitar, mandolins and bhodran. Perryn has been a professional singer and composer since she was 17, and is also the lead singer in the 8 piece concert band, Amazonne. She is half of the writing partnership Butler Colbourn who created the hit musical, The Fire of London. Perryn is immensely experienced at putting together the perfect set of music for a function. She is very happy to discuss your taste in music with you to personalise your event.
Gaynor Colbourn is a classically trained pianist and session musician who sings harmonies and plays multi-keyboards as well as operating the synthesised drums. It was a conscious decision not to use their drummer for the wedding band, choosing instead to have a band with easily controlled volume. Gaynor is a session musician, working in various studios, as well as a composer for film and TV. Her theme tune for BBC's SORRY, starring Ronnie Corbett, is one of her most well known pieces. She too is part of the concert band Amazonne, playing multi-keyboards and is musical director. She is the other half of Butler Colbourn, composers of The Fire of London.
Holly Robinson is a fiddle payer, playing 4 string, 5 string and Octave Fiddle. She is a session musician and fiddle player for both The Perfect Choice and Amazonne, as well as traditional folk bands Quarto and Estron. She has played with various dance and ceilidh bands since her teenage years.
Mike Forewood plays 6 String Bass Guitar for both The Perfect Choice and Amazonne, and is the very reliable bottom end of both bands. He is the perfect bass player, he is very sympathetic to the music, and never plays too loud.
The Band
Bringing together four highly experienced musicians, The Perfect Choice is able to offer a versatile sound that can be tailored to your occasion. By adding violin we can put a fresh twist on songs you will recognise, with the opportunity to be a bit jazzy, add a Celtic tinge or classical vibe.
As composers and experienced arrangers, we have a fresh look at songs and make them more lively or interesting. Gaynor is a world class keyboard player, playing everything live with amazing technical wizardry and the sound of an orchestra.
While able to provide classical and traditional numbers, the band specialises in dance music and rocking beats, getting everyone up dancing with a vast repertoire of music from the 1920s to the present day. Sampled drums, operated by Gaynor, ensure suitability for dance music, but with more controlled volume than a live drummer, to give a sound that is just right for your venue and requirements. However a live drummer is available as an optional extra. Mike also provides the deep bass sound which is so important for dance music.

The cost reflects the quality of the sound system, the experience of the musicians and the time it has taken them to learn and rehearse just the right music and the twelve or so hours it takes to load, drive, set up and breakdown-the playing is just the bit you get to see. Yes a hobby band would be cheaper, but if you want a job done well with a contract, safety certificate and insurance, book a professional band for peace of mind and quality.
N.B. To become a good pro musician takes as much time and skill as learning to be a surgeon. Gaynor, our musical director and Keyboard Player, trained at The Royal Academy of Music, and is a highly qualified musician, a Doc Mus. The years of training is just part of becoming a good musician, the most important quality is experience. Some of the stunning instrumentals are testimony to the talent of the musicianship of The Perfect Choice.

We chose a Professional wedding band as they are musicians for a living, this is their profession. When we needed a builder we used a Pro, so when it really mattered for the wedding, we took no chances and called in the professional band, The Perfect Choice, they were blooming brilliant and in budget.
We had the band for our nan's 75th birthday bash, and thery played all sores of music that everyone loved. Even some Fred Astaire songs, Nan loved that. At the end of the night their violin player played jigs and reels. It was brill, such fun, awesome, Thank you Perfect Choice. Rory
