Jo Appleby

Classical crossover soprano Jo Appleby performs a wide spectrum of popular operatic and contemporary hits. She has just released her first solo single Casta Diva and has a solo album due for release January 2017.

Before being signed by Sony BMG as part of Amici Forever,Lancashire lass Jo trained at the Royal Northern College of Music. She then began her professional career with the Carl Rosa Opera Company. She has since gone on to perform regularly with Glyndebourne Festival, Glyndeboune Touring Opera and the Royal Opera House Covent Garden. She is currently a member of the English National Opera.

Signed by Sony BMG as an original member of the opera band Amici ForeverJo has sung in prestigious venues worldwide. She has toured extensively promoting the multi platinum selling albums Defined and The Opera Band and has performed live on radio and television in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Russia, Europe and the USA. She has toured with Dame Shirley Bassey and with Sir Cliff Richard. Jo also features on the debut album of Sony BMG artist Joseph McManners.

Since her departure from Amici Jo has returned to her operatic roots. She enjoys a busy concert schedule performing regularly with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and with the National Symphony Orchestra. Her career is diverse. Jo has sung to Royalty including Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness Prince Charles and also to football and rugby crowds (the FA cup at Wembley and the six nations at Cardiff Millennium stadium, also mascot to Crystal Palace FC) She has toured Australia, Dubai and New Zealand as a soloist singing at prestigious venues such as the Sydney Opera House. She has toured the U.K with Calibre Productions, A Night at the Opera with Go Compares Wynne Evans and has also shared the stage with Alfie Boe, and has performed at the London Palladium with comedienne Pam Anne!

A significant portion of Jos work is in the private and corporate sector with performances in London,Sydney, Monte Carlo, Casablanca, Eilat, Dubai, Moscow, Paris, Tokyo and Barcelona.

Jo has sung at all the major London venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Cadogan Hall, Somerset House, the Savoy and Wigmore hall among others. She has performed on board P&0 Classical Festivals at Sea on board the Artimis and Arcadia as well as featuring as a solo artist in opera gala nights on board Cunards QE2 and for Holland Americas New Amsterdam.

Operatic roles include: Musetta La Boheme, Micaela Carmen, Servillia La Clemenza di Titto, Lakme, Jano Jenufa, Phyllis Iolanthe, the page, Rigoletto. Oratorio and concert performances include, Tosca Verdi, Madam Butterfly Puccini, La Boheme Puccini, Requiem Verdi, Faure and Rutter; Messiah Handel; Stabat Mater Dvorak; Merry England German; Israel in Egypt Handel; Gloria Poulenc.
